Essential Kitchen Information
On this page you will find the basic kitchen information that you’ll need to use the facility. This includes: how to unlock the door with your key fob; locking and unlocking the door from the inside; turning lights on and off; end of shift checklist; parking; walk-in temperature; and mop location.
Locking & Unlocking the Kitchen Door
THE KITCHEN DOOR IS LOCATED ON CARROLL STREET. IT CAN BE UNLOCKED WITH YOUR KEY FOB.
USING YOUR KEY FOB
Bring your fob up to the door and the light will turn green (you will hear a beep also).
Please also swab your key fob when you leave, so that we have your time in and time out- this can protect you if someone leaves the door unlocked or something goes array
LOCKING AND UNLOCKING THE KITCHEN DOOR FROM THE INSIDE
NOTE: use the allen wrench hanging to the right of the door to tab or un-tab the door.
STEEPEST (yet most easily avoidable) FINABLE OFFENCE:
$250 if you keep the blue Carroll St. door unlocked for the last person out.
Use the hanging allen key and turn it to the left until the door handle pops out.
Lights
Should the lights turn off in your working space, simply hit the rectangular button on the bottom of these lights to turn them back on for your desired duration.
End of Shift Check List
These can be found near the hand sink in the bakery. It is best to follow this checklist before leaving the facility to avoid a fine.
Parking
All parking is street parking (and free)
After 5:30pm you can park at Ingold Tire or on Saturdays & Sundays
After you load in or load out (through the blue Carroll St. door), please move your vehicle away from the door and farther down Carroll St. to allow for food truck parking
If you are working overnight (most often bakers) you are welcome to park by the door, but you must move should a food truck or any other member need to load in or out.
Walk-In Temperature
At the entrance door, the temperature will always be higher than the thermometer hanging in the back. Please let us know immediately if both thermometers are in the 41-45 degrees range.
Reasons why the thermometer closer to the entrance/exit door will be warmer: food trucks coming in and out on Tuesdays; summer months; or several people going in and out during a busy time of day.
Where to Find the Mop
In the bakery, next to the blue Carroll St. door! If you make a mess, please clean it up!
