Thank you for your interest in Hakanai!
Due to the overwhelming response, all of our reservations and waitlists have been BOOKED OUT.

We are delighted at the excitement swirling around this 3 night event!

Hakanai's 5 course, prix fixe dinner menu is $55 per person.
Hakanai's prix fixe menu is a progression of courses designed by Chef Cotter, inspired by a kaiseki menu.  Kaiseki meals have a prescribed order to their dishes, taking into account flavor combinations, seasonality, ingredients and the heaviness of each dish.
-  Beverages will be sold separately -

How It Works

1  Book your party’s reservation below. Parties are limited to 6 people.

2  The Cookery will call you in order to confirm your reservation.  At that time, we will ask about dietary restrictions and answer any questions you may have about the restaurant.  You will also need to guarantee your reservation with a credit card at that time.  We require this guarantee because seating is limited.  Your credit card will only be charged if you do not arrive for your reservation.

3  Once you arrive for your reservation, Hakanai will operate just like any other restaurant.  You will order your drinks, enjoy your meal and be presented with a bill.  Please note that your meal will be paced according to your desire, but will allow for a maximum two hour dinning experience.  We encourage diners to take their time and soak in the experience, and advise against making reservations for a speedy meal prior to a show.

Cancellations
In the sad event that you need to cancel your reservation, please email hello@durhamcookery.com.  Cancellations must be made 14 days prior your reservation.

No shows will be charged $55 per person.

FAQ
For more information about other necessary details, please visit our FAQ page.

I have a party of 6, but the time I desire only has 2 reservations left.  How can we be seated together?
We’re sorry, but you will not be able to make a reservation for a party larger than the number of reservations available for any particular time slot.

I have a group of 10 guests who would like to dine together, but your party reservations are limited to 6.
We would love to accommodate parties of 10, however sadly we cannot.  Party size is limited to 6.

Reservations have been booked for the day / time I desire.  Should I email you to inquire about a waitlist?
If a particular time slot is booked out, you are welcome to sign up for the waitlist.  If a guest cancels and your booking preference can be filled, you will receive an email notifying you of your booking.

I’m not too savvy on the internet.  Can I call to book the reservation?
We’re sorry - all reservations must be booked through our website.  We suggest you employ a friend who is tech savvy to help you make your reservations.  Reservations will not be taken by phone.
